Drive from Camping Village Doñarrayan Park to Camping Internacional Aranjuez near Toledo/Madrid.
Sadly we did not make it into Madrid. We decided that it is a huge city that we haven't visited before, and that going in for a day just wouldn't do it justice. Also, many museums etc closed due to the Coronavirus.
Huge open plains in Spain. Can't really show how vast they are in the photographs.

This plane has flown over each day so far.

We drove to Consuegra (90km) today to the La Mancha region to see the La Mancha windmills. Consuegra Castle was closed but we hadn't intended on visiting anyway.

I have no idea what these beetles are but they were big at about 5-6cm long!

Today we drove 50km to Toledo. It was lovely town high up on the hill. Parked by the river and walked to escalators that took us up the hill. Wandered around the streets which were very pretty.
this is some form of conveyor, for grain perhaps. It went for ages and this is where it crosses the road (above and below).

So many padlocks here!
Federico Martín Bahamontes was a professional cyclist, born (and still living) in Toledo. He was the first Spaniard to win Le Tour de France in 1959. He was also six times winner of the mountain grand prix of France.
Today we were to drive to Vic, near Barcelona in Catalonia, Spain. This was a place that Brad and I visited 20 years ago and got a bit lost, then ended up at a beautiful hotel by a lake! We had wanted to go back here to visit. however with Spain announcing late yesterday the closure of several Spanish regions due to Covid19, we decided to head over the border today into France.

Probably it from us for a wee bit. Not so much sightseeing going on due to Covid19. We are currently concentrating on booking a couple of campsites in France (many are still closed as they close over the winter months, and only open tomorrow or the following week), and booking the Eurotunnel to Folkestone on the 18th. Fingers crossed the border stays open for us to get to the UK.
