In many photographs you can see temporary fencing and cones where the gutters at the side of many of the roads have been filled in with bitumen.  This is to widen the footpaths to allow for 2 metres social distancing due to Covid-19, now that non-essential shops are permitted to open.


Site of Shakespeare's New Place (to the right and below)

Shakespeare’s New Place was his family home from 1597 until he died in the house in 1616. The house was demolished in 1759, a registered garden has been designed to commemorate the importance of the site.
