Our final week in Berkeley - Orivlle, John, Meadow Lea, Hut, Sharpness, Sally Lunn, Dinner: 19 - 24 July 2020
During our final week in Berkeley we have still managed to fit in a few things. Below are some of the things we've been up to, including an update on Orville, saying farewell to John, a walk near the Severn, visiting the Sally Lunn shop in Bath, farewell dinner, and boys sleepover in the hut!
Orville
First up is Orville. Orville is now two months old and still doesn't identify as being a duck! She, (we can now tell this by her feathers) would rather spend time with the humans than the other ducks!
Next is John. John has been with us from the beginning! He joined our family in Vienna, traveled through Italy, Monaco, France, Spain, Portugal, back in to Spain, France again, then over to England! Needless to say he's been a great companion and has entertained the boys, both big and small, for many hours. But it was time to say goodbye. He had been duct taped up many times, but he was 'beyond repair' now. Goodbye John, you will be missed by us all.
Oh, we do have a replacement for John, Kipster joined the family in Spain!
The photos below show the downstairs living space at Meadow Lea Cottage, our 'home' since 17 March!

So after so much hard work, and although the hut isn't quite finished, Brad, Chris, Cale and Nico slept out in it on 21st, then Brad and the boys again on the 22nd. Cale and Chris slept our here on our final night in Berkeley.
The LED strip lights were designed and placed by Cale.
Sharpness Marina
We went for a short walk to connect up the two pathways we have already walked, but from either end, so we hadn't done the bit in the middle.
Sharpness Lock
On the way back from our walk we discovered that there was a ship coming into dock on the high tide this evening, so we drove back to have a look. It was interesting to see not one, but two huge ships coming into the lock before heading in to dock. However after an hour or so we didn't wait for the second ship. It was a very very slow process as the lock is so narrow.
Sally Lunn Shop in Bath
Earlier this week the Sally Lunn Shop/Tea Room announced they will open this Friday - our last day in Berkeley before heading up to Cambridge with our caravan. Of course, we had to go!
The Ionian - A38
Our final evening in Berkeley with Chris and Charmyn. We took them our to The Ionian, a small family run farm shop and woodfired pizza place on the A38 run.
Thanks so much Chris and Charmyn for your amazing hospitality and accommodating our family, during what has been a very stressful time on occasions. We have been truly blessed by your kindness and guidance in decision making, when, at times, it was hard to see a path ahead. Thank you!
