Managed Isolation/Quarantine, Auckland: Day 4 - 7 (7 - 10 September 2020)

Day 4
--ooOoo--

Today was a long day!  Sadly we missed out on a time slot for the 'exercise yard'.  I sorted out the laundry for collection, which will be returned in 1-2 days all folded!  Brad arranged for our mobile phones to be back on contract, and we did some home learning with the boys.  Kids lunches were interesting today!  A small wrap with cold pureed sweet potato!!  They get snacks with it as well, but still, a very odd option.  Spent some time sitting in the sun that comes in through the window during the afternoon, and waited for dinner.  I had order some repeat prescriptions which were collected by the nurses and delivered this evening.  The nurses didn't do their temperature check rounds today.

Day 5
--ooOoo--

Still struggling to get into a normal sleep routine.  Nurses came this morning and checked temperatures.  Some other medications delivered by staff also.  Worked on some more school work with the boys.  Today we had our 45 minutes in the 'exercise yard' at 1pm.  The first bit of outside sun we have had since Paul and Lucy's on the 31 August!!  It was lovely just to sit for a bit and enjoy it.  Walked for most of the time though.  Lunch was lovely - adults had salads, kids a sandwich.  The afternoon seemed slow today.  Dinner came and we watched TV before heading to bed.

Day 6
--ooOoo--

Today we were booked in the 'exercise yard' at 2pm.  We filled the morning with ordering our meals for 11-14 September, school work for the boys and being visited by the nurses for our temperature checks.  No Covid test results which means we were negative.  Positive results are advised very quickly apparently.

Dumplings for the adults lunch, sausage rolls with snacks for the boys.  The laundry came back all hanging nicely on coat hangers - very fancy!  Time for a game before dinner arrives around 6pm then maybe a movie!

Day 7
--ooOoo--

Half way through - woohoo!!!!  A bag of pineapple lumps delivered to our room with a note congratulating us on making the half way point!!  Missed out on the 'exercise yard' today sadly.  School work with the boys and some fun activities.  Other than that a fairly quiet day.  Nurses did their rounds for temperature checks, which were all within the normal range.  Dinner was once again lovely. Mine was chicken leg with steamed vegetables and a yummy risotto, Brad had lasagne and boys had spaghetti and meatballs.  Dessert was a chocolate lamington, fruit compote and cream!
